Procedure for separating Serum from whole blood

1. Collect whole blood in a covered test tube. *Avoid hemolysis*
2. After collection of the whole blood, allow blood to clot by leaving it undisturbed at room temperature for minimum of 30 to maximum of 60 minutes.
3. Remove the clot by centrifugation at 1,000-1,500 x g for 10 minutes using a refrigerated centrifuge at 4℃.
